Elementary Truths (Part 2)

Elementary Truths about our Personal Salvation

1.  Many Christians have incomplete knowledge of their personal salvation (Eph. 1:15-23) because of three reasons…

a.  We don’t need to know everything in order to be saved. (i.e. Acts 2: 22-36)

b.  God wants us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Pet. 3:17-18)

c.  Revelation is progressive. (Phil. 3:15-16)

2.  It is our personal responsibility to learn the elementary truths of our salvation in order to go on to maturity. (Heb. 5:11-14)

3.  The elementary truths of our salvation (based on Heb. 6:1-3) include the following:

a.  Repentance from acts that lead to death (or dead works) and faith in God

b.  Instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment (i.e. doctrine, “didache”)
